Hybrid strip®

The electron beam welded strip allows the combination of different alloys, thicknesses and strengths. In conjunction with a well-conceived layout of the stamped parts, new ideas can be realised or expensive subsequent processes eliminated.

There are benefits for you, particularly in the combination of strips

  • of different thicknesses: lower material cost, new options for stamped parts.
  • of different tempers: soft and formable on the one side, hard and elastic on the other side.
  • of different materials: high-performance alloys in the functional area and pure copper for the crimp, combination of different conductivities, combination of copper alloy with steel or another metal.

The process

Electron beam welding is characterised by high energy density and deep heat penetration into the material, making it possible to produce extremely narrow welds. The process results in clean, oxide-free welds with a homogeneous appearance and good weld filling.


Copper, zinc-free copper alloys and steels.


  • strip thicknesses 0.15-4.0 mm
  • total strip width of up to 240 mm
    maximum individual strip width 200 mm
